nntp duplicate message

    I found a strange behavior. I get duplicate message when post from nntp at one area (FXSNet.FSX_ESP)

    it's come with username at firts message and real name on second message.

        When nntpservice.js terminates (the client has disconnect), it logs how many messages were posted. Is it saying that "1 messages posted" or "2 messages posted" when you perform this test?

        Are there 2 identical messages actually in the same message base as a result of this test?

        Is it possible you have 2 subs configured with the same newsgroup name: "FSXNet.FSX_ESP" ?

        And if they're getting imported into the same message base, I guess the same internal code too.

        wops! I'm surprised one area have Using Real names set to yes and the another have set to No!

        i delete one of them I also had to unsubscribe from both from thuderbird and resubscribe to one

        Isn't there a restriction that prevents area names from being duplicated? at least the internal codes should be unique with some check to avoid this issue.

        There are checks (for duplicate internal codes), but there's always way to defeat them by a determined sysop.

        The chksetup.js should also warn you about this.
