* The function IRC_match() in irclib.js would give a JS exception if the mask

  string passed to it contained a ')' or '('.  The function has been rewritten
  in JS, however, appears to be about 1 to 2 clock ticks slower than the
  original on a dual P4 2.6 (according to system.clock_ticks)
