users unable to exit node to node chat

There have been occasions where I have used CTRL-C to exit node to node chat with a user but they get stuck in chat. This seems to be very repeatable when doing a chat with yourself on a second terminal.

For example,

Login twice with your username, go to node to node chat and enter line number of the 2nd login. Type a few things in each terminal then CTRL-C to exit. The 2nd chat will not exit.

If some activity to performed on that node, such as a spy or CTRL-P from the originating end will exit the chat on the other node.
